Health testing
Health & Raising →Health is an important part of the direction of our breeding program. We currently utilize genetic screening and are continuing to expand our health-testing program, including completing breed-appropriate OFA evaluations as our dogs reach the appropriate stages. Our goal is to use health information alongside temperament, structure, and pedigree when making future breeding decisions.

Our health guarantee
Every Briwder Kennels puppy goes home with age-appropriate veterinary care, vaccinations, deworming, and health records. We also provide a genetic health guarantee, as outlined in each buyer’s contract, through the dog’s second birthday.

Our application is intentionally simple and gives us the basic information needed to start the process. The most important part comes next: a personal follow-up conversation where we learn more about the family, their experience, lifestyle, home environment, and what they are looking for in an American Akita.

Outside of Briwder Kennels, I work professionally in Environmental Health and Safety management and also serve as a pastor. Both roles have shaped how I lead, communicate, serve people, and approach responsibility. Planning, continuous improvement, accountability, and caring for people are all things that naturally carry over into the way I approach our kennel and the families we work with.
